Road Transport

Anyone involved with transport will no doubt agree that there are countless problems to be overcome, anything from motorway closures to ferry strikes. The secret of a successful transport operation is the experience and flexibility of the staff involved to find a solution to these problems. At Kelly International we are proud of our flexibility and 'can do' attitude to solve your transport headaches.

Our fleet of vehicles are split between UK and European general haulage and container haulage giving us the flexibility to cover fluctuations in any particular sector. On general haulage we can carry any load from 1 to 28 tonnes (25 tonnes within Europe). Our Euroliner trailers provide the flexibility to load from either the side, rear or from above courtesy of sliding roofs. These trailers have internal heights of 2.75metres to provide 90m³ of loading space.

Based in the heart of the paper making industry we can also offer a complete paper transport system with our Joloda trailers (these trailers are fitted with special tracks built into the trailer floor so reels of paper loaded 'on end' can be moved to the rear of the trailer with skates that fit into the tracks). Reels can also be transported 'on the roll' securely and safely with the modern chocking system built into the trailer floor.

We have vehicles departing for Belgium, Holland and Germany on a daily basis carrying both part loads and full loads, we can offer a very competitive import / export solution to the above countries, we are also proud of the fact we can position vehicles anywhere in Europe for that special load where you need to know exactly who you are dealing with, and also know the load will be collected and delivered as required.

Our vehicles have covered the length and breadth of Europe be it palm trees from London to Majorca, Pharmaceuticals to Lisbon or parcels to Copenhagen we always find a solution. Being a family run company with a 'can do' attitude and the flexibility to make things happen, we relish the logistical problems that other companies shy away from. Some examples:

One Friday evening at 5.30pm we received a call that a load of automotive parts due for Mercedes Benz, Kassel, Germany had not been collected from Tilbury. We had the load on wheels by 8pm and delivered the load at 8am the next morning by sending a double manned team with the load and keeping the production line moving.

One August Bank holiday Friday evening we received another call for two trailers to load on Bank Holiday Monday with two full loads of Marquees and be in Cannes for Tuesday morning, leave the trailers on site and return two weeks later for the trailers, we had everything in place for the Tuesday so the 'A' list celebrities could enjoy a particular media moguls birthday party.

As with our international transport services we'd like to think we can offer the same flexibility on the UK side both with container and general haulage. With our present contracts we have vehicles delivering all over England, Scotland and Wales on a daily basis, with our fleet of 44 tonne artics we can offer a full or part load service anywhere in the UK. All our vehicles are equipped with mobile phones for direct communication to the drivers for updates or problem solving. Our drivers are also issued with full personal protection kit so they can load in any environment, from building sites, steel works or normal warehouse conditions with health and safety regulations.

Our container fleet are all equipped with sliding skeletal trailers to carry 20, 30 or 40' containers. We are registered with Tilbury, Southampton and Felixstowe VBS systems so we can move containers ex all major ports in the South of England.
